NETWORK ARCHITECT

TAS is seeking a Network Architect who is responsible for leading the internal and customer network design process across our Data Centre, Public Cloud and Customer WAN environments.

The focus of the role is collaborating with the product team to develop new security focused network solutions, driving the network roadmap to enable delivery of innovative, secure network solutions that align with industry trends, best practice and compliance with Information Security policies and processes.

Additional key responsibilities are:

  • Architectural governance and technical oversight to the implementation of all strategic network projects
  • Lead the development of architectures for complex network solutions, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers. Responsible for the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements

  • Deliver, present and maintain key artefacts, including architectural patterns and blueprints for repeatable architectures. Conceptual, high level and detailed solution designs required.
  • Work with the product management team, aligning to our product development lifecycle; conduct gap analysis, define architectural requirements, run proof of concepts, supplier comparisons, develop network related service management requirements, and present options for new solutions
  • Ensure network solution architectures include considerations for upfront and ongoing costs, risk, resourcing, operational impact and supportability requirements, and measurement over the solution lifecycle
  • Design for support – network architectures and product design must include ongoing manage service considerations, support requirements and transition processes

Key Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Extensive background in architecting network solution involving routing and switching technologies, Data Centre and WAN/LAN, WLAN, IP transit, routing protocols such as BGP, IBGP
  • Extensive understanding and proven experience in delivering solutions based on Next-Gen Firewall technology with multi-tenancy, specifically Fortinet Fortigate–minimum of Fortinet NSE5 certification (preferably NSE7)
  • Solid experience on VxLAN technology–Arista core switching experience is beneficial
  • Experienced with Cisco SD-WAN (formerly Viptela) solutions and Cisco ISR hardware platforms
  • Experience with architecting hybrid cloud network solutions, integrating Public Cloud architectures (Microsoft Azure) with Data Centre infrastructure and customer WAN topologies
  • Experience in delivering architectural requirements within product development lifecycle (PDLC)
  • Ability to provide guidance and educate senior management, customers and technical staff on technology solutions and roadmaps
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to handle concurrent initiatives and prioritise accordingly
  • Demonstrable ability to document solution architectures using a variety of diagramming and modelling techniques
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
    balancing needs to meet both strategic and short-term initiatives
